Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.

Why the community needs us
We don't think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That's why we provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Our impact on the community
In 2019, we fed just under 6000 people. In 2020, due to the pandemic, demand rose dramatically and we fed just over 12,000! It has now settled to around 1000 per month. This year (2021) we are expecting to see even more people in need of our help as the furlough scheme comes to an end and unemployment rises. In February, with your help, we fed 1297 people.

How your Donations Help
We are grateful to receive donations of food and money from members of the public. We could not exist without your ongoing support. Thank you. We need funds to cover both running costs (rent and salaries for our 4 part-time paid staff who support our team of volunteers), as well as funds to buy food and toiletries etc. when we run out of essential items. We also buy items such as school bags, craft and educational equipment for children. We're grateful for your support which helps so many children as well as adults
