The Weston Adventure Playground (known as the Venny) is fantastic resource which needs to be used by as many local children and young people as possible. Our aim is to improve the conditions of life for local children and families by making the Venny more than just a playground. We believe that it can - once again - become a vital community hub which promotes the welfare of our community; a safe place where people can gather, make new friends, learn new skills and spend quality time together.

The Weston Adventure Playground is by far the best and most versatile community building in Weston. If we are to reach a new generation, we need to maintain our building and equipment and get back to our roots as a community led project. We need to keep investing in it, not just because the building matters, but because our children matter. Our buildings say a lot about us and what we value. We want the very best for our children, so only the very best buildings and equipment will do!

Weston is the 3rd most deprived area in Hampshire. It falls within the bottom 5% nationally. 1 in 3 children live with poverty, and 1 in 3 children leave school with no qualifications. One key outcome - which has been written into the constitution of the Venny from the outset - is to improve the conditions of life for local children and families and to help break the link between child poverty and educational under-achievement.
