We support the most at risk/vulnerable children, young people and young adults through 1:1 mentoring at difficult times in their lives and empower them to look to the future through a variety of different methods.
We have an experienced and flexible team of engagement workers based throughout our County on hand to support those in need.
Why the community needs us
We engage with those being supported away from home and provide sessions in the community based on activities and the interests of the young person. We also work in schools to support staff with students who are presenting unacceptable behavioural, poor attendance, difficulties engaging and generally struggling in the school environment. We also support children, young people and young adults with issues such as self-harming, suicidal tendencies, alcohol/substance misuse and mental ill-health.
Our impact on the community
Karen was 16 years old when she received support. She had a poor relationship with her mother who gave her little attention and few boundaries. As a result Karen became involved in antisocial behaviour, substance and alcohol abuse and was considered very vulnerable. She had poor school attendance and no real ambition. Karen has now chosen a different life path. She accepts she still makes some poor choices but, with support, she makes more appropriate decisions.
