We put patients and their families at the very heart of everything that we do, providing compassionate care and a friendly, peaceful environment. We can't change our patients' diagnosis, but we can help improve their quality of life, as they come to terms with their illness. We help them to live as well as they can and listen to their needs - both at our Hospice on the beautiful Willen Lake and in their own homes. Everything we do is underpinned by our values: Compassion, Ambition, Respect and Excellence.
Why the community needs usOur care touches thousands of people every year. It gives comfort, eases pain and reduces anxiety. In a typical year our In-Patient Unit cares for over 300 people, our Willen at Home team make over 3,200 visits to patients at home, and our Wellbeing Centre receives over 1,400 visits. We also call more than 11,000 patients and loved ones at home to offer support. As well as the care we provide, we have a network of around 600 volunteers from the community who offer time to support the Hospice.
Our impact on the communityTo continue to provide our specialist care to the people of Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, we need to raise around £4.7 million every year; that's £9 a minute. It's only thanks to the dedication, determination and generosity of our community that we can continue to offer the care we do.
