Providing a Community based Allstar national champion cheerleading program for north Hampshire
Wolverines is a highly successful Allstar cheerleading program serving Basingstoke, Winchester and north Hampshire. As a charity community sports club our aim is to keep the sport affordable and provide the best Cheerleading opportunity for our athletes. We support male and female athletes aged from 5 to 18. Low income families receive financial support for any athlete that shows the potential, commitment and ability to become a member of one of our national champion teams.
Why the community needs usWe promote Health & Wellbeing in the community. Engage youth and young adults in sport participation. Competition Cheerleading is very popular with those aged between 5 and 22 years. Nominated as a future Olympic sport its popularity is on the rise. Our athletes enjoy the teamwork and friendships. It builds confidence, teaches discipline, commitment and the importance of working together. It's all inclusive and brilliant fun. Opportunities are there for both serious and casual athletes.
Our impact on the communityWolverines place equal importance on sporting success and sports development for those interested in the fitness and fun side. Cheerleading breaks down barriers. All ethnicities, religions and sexualities find equal status "on the mat". With more than 120 members we are growing rapidly. Athletes from difficult backgrounds thrive and find a second home at the club. We provide for those with behaviour issues and low esteem giving confidence to socialise with others outside their peer group.
