WomenCentre delivers services to women during periods of crisis in their lives including those experiencing acute and chronic mental health difficulties, those that have been in contact with the criminal justice system, women refugee and asylum seekers from often brutal regimes, those with drug and alcohol problems and victims of domestic violence and their children. The Centre's work is focused on holistic care and the safety of the woman and her family.
Why the community needs us
WomenCentre has been providing support to over 110,000 of some of the most vulnerable women and their families across Calderdale and Kirklees for the past 30 years. We also work closely with a wide range of statutory and voluntary sector organisations on a wide range of agendas including Children's and Adult's Safeguarding and Community Safety.
Our impact on the community
Women accessing our services routinely state that they feel safer, healthier and more confident as a direct result of the support offer to them. Many women go onto become volunteers, peer mentors or staff members because they want to give something back to the organisation.
