The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. We fly seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a vast landscape that not only includes major cities and motor ways, but also rural and isolated locations. To keep providing this life saving service the charity needs to raise £7200 per day to keep both of YAA's helicopters maintained and in the air.
Why the community needs usNo one ever knows when they will need the help of the Yorkshrie Air Ambulances. Most of the people we help will start their day as normal and unexpectidly end up getting a ride in a helicopter they weren't exxpecting. We help everyone and anyone - their is no specific criteria for a person to be rescued by the YAA. The work we do is literally a matter of life or death in most cases. The quicker we can get a patient to hospital, the better chance they have of making a good recovery.
Our impact on the communityIn many cases, lives have been saved as a result of the work of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. This can be due to a number of factors including getting to medical treatment faster, being taken to the most relevant hospital for the persons injuries, the speed at which patients reach hospital, the expert medical treatment our team can give on scene...the list could go on.
