The line was closed in 1958 and we are busy restoring a section to bring back a piece of history to the Wolds. The first Phase is now complete, and we are now wanting to push forward with phase 2 to lay more track to more than triple our current trackage.
Why the community needs us
As well as stimulating lots of local interest, we are working with other interested parties to help enhance tourism in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Our impact on the community
Please visit us at Fimber Halt where you can enjoy a cab ride in our locomotive Sir Tatton Sykes over the 300ft demo line, or step back in time in the visitor centre sent inside a cosmetically restored BR Mk1 coach containing many artefacts and photos from when the line was in operation. A shop selling tea and coffee etc is also on site. We will be open from Easter 2021 every Sunday & Bank Holiday throughout the summer until the end of September 2021 – come and visit us !
