Chichester | Counselling, Advice & Mentoring
Our aim is to make fully accessible for local young people the information, advice and support they need to become fully participative members of the community, and active, independent citizens. We support young people aged 13-25 in the Chichester district by offering them a free, confidential and impartial service at our 'drop-in' centre located in central Chichester. Information, advice & counselling are delivered in a relaxed, non judgemental environment.
Why the community needs usThe Chichester area has a high proportion of young people. Within the client base there are many young people who are disassociated or disaffected. Some clients may have learning difficulties or disabilities, or may be suffering from depression. By relieving stress and feelings of isolation, our work helps young people to be healthy and well-adjusted members of their community.
Our impact on the communityWe aim to improve the mental and physical health of young people by early diagnosis and intervention of social welfare problems. This can reduce the need for visits to GP surgeries, relieving pressure on the NHS and public services, and potentially avoiding up to £13,000 of unnecessary cost to the NHS for each young person helped.
