Help offered: Sign Language Teaching. "My name is Aftab Hussain. I am profoundly Deaf, and I am a British Sign Language teacher. I am based in Bradford, but teach all over the UK in schools, charities, community groups, and many other organisations and businesses. I teach basic BSL to people of all ages, covering topics like emotions, colours, animals, food and drink, and many more.

The courses are fun as well as educational, and we aim to help people break down communication barriers!

Event: Brightstars Autistic Club based at the Methodist Church Hall, Middle Lane, and provides  support to those with autism by giving them a safe and friendly environment for them to have fun and be themselves.  We do this by offering sessions in African Drumming, Drama and Dancing, Sports, Movement Therapy, Art  and a Reading Club. We organise trips to the seaside, West End theatre, River cruises, etc. 

We are celebrating our 10th Anniversary on 5th October 2024.  We are appealing to donors to kindly sponsor our event as follows:

Supporting your Clients’ Mental Health: You My Sister provides mental health support for women who have experienced domestic abuse. Domestic abuse, mental health and other services across the UK already routinely refer clients to us.

Our high impact support takes the form of short courses, run in small online groups of peers with trainers with lived experience – helping women process what happened to them and reclaim their lives.

Vacancy: Dementia Voice Activity Supporter (Alzheimer's Society) - You'll be offering appropriate practical support to individuals taking part in Dementia Voice activities and this may include accompanying a person affected by dementia, if required, to Dementia Voice activities (this may be by car, on foot or by public transport). You’ll support with administration tasks for activities and events for example, by making phone calls and will also engage with people affected by dementia to support the coordination of Dementia Voice events. Fundraiser: Help Warmhub Cafe, part of Asian Community Concern Southall, get back on their feet after a robbery. In the early hours of 25 March 2024, the Cafe was robbed. They support vulnerable women and is a safe space. Crowdfunder here
