Cool Recovery is an independent charity providing support, information, volunteering opportunities and a range of activities for family, friends and people recovering from or affected by mental health issues. It provides opportunities and space to make changes, to use and develop skills, pursue aspirations and recover a good quality of life.

We create an environment which empowers and helps people to realise their potential, which results in more employment or voluntary work, fewer inpatient admissions and a reduction in the need for medication. Support for carers assists them in continuing their caring role, as well as potentially their own employment.

Many of our members are able to maintain better mental health through their involvement at Cool Recovery, as well as gaining skills to assist them to move on to other volunteering or employment opportunities. Those in a caring role feel supported and encouraged by attending the carers groups and are assisted in their own capacity to cope through respite and therapeutic activities.
