To offer support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone dies and to enhance society's care of bereaved people
Why the community needs usCruse's vision is that all bereaved people have somewhere to turn to when someone dies, our area covers Coventry and Warwickshire and all people of all ages who request support from us receive it. We provide the opportunity for an individual to talk through their feelings of loss with a trained bereavement volunteer. We also offer the chance to share problems relating to bereavement through social gatherings and build contacts with people who are undersatnding and sympathetic.
Our impact on the communityLast year (2011) we supported over 500 people with bereavement counselling and support. This support enabled those individuals (of all ages) to rebuild their lives and cope with their normal everyday lives in the way that they would like to after the loss of a loved one. Cruse's approach is that each client is a unique individual and will present differing coping issues and desired goals so our support to that individual will be tailored to their particular needs.
