Why the community needs us
Deafconnect provides services to all Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, deafblind people and people with tinnitus, their families and carers in Northamptonshire. Our services include information, advice and support for anyone living with a hearing impairment or tinnitus, access to information and services through interpreting, advocacy, self help and social groups, services for people with a dual sensory impairment and BSL classes at level 1 and 2.
Our impact on the community
Our services improve our clients' quality of life in a wide variety of ways such as accessing the correct disability benefits they are entitled to and accessing interpreters for appointments such as the doctors, dentists etc. We help people with specialist equipment for the deaf and hard of hearing that helps them live more independently. We run groups for those with tinnitus or who are hard of hearing, we offer training into employment support. We have Deaf youth clubs and activities for Deaf children
