Our constitution's objectives are: "To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with people in London Borough of Bexley and neighbouring boroughs and the local area who are socially excluded on the grounds of their age, to relieve the needs of such people and assist them to integrate into society, in particular by: providing computer training and other skills and enhancing their physical and mental health.

Why the community needs us

Our club is unique because it provides social interaction and various activities for both genders and all ethnic groups under one roof for the vulnerable elderly and disabled unable to access them before. Many are isolated because they live on their own through either being widowed or just single. The social environment of the club has encouraged friendship groups to form and provide support systems during the week. This helps reduce isolation in the members from local and wider community.

Our impact on the community

The membership has increased dramatically from 24 to 75, all eager to attend. The reported benefits of chairobics is that it has helped balance & posture, reduced falls & improved mobility. Delivery of ICT training has been successful as a UK online Centre Partner since Sept'11. 6 have completed the course and more are due to do so. Our oldest learner is 90 years old. Members also report that the variety of activities such as beading, table top games etc has enabled them to learn new skills.
