We manage around £1 million in grant making each year, getting money to where it really matters to voluntary groups on the frontline doing vital and life changing work in our local communities. At the same time, we provide a cost-effective, personal and flexible way for businesses, individuals, statutory organisations and private trusts to invest in these community groups and make a lasting difference to local issues and causes in Devon.

As a Community Foundation, we believe that local people are best placed to see what needs doing in their local community and to do something about it. The voluntary and community groups we support give those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or disabled a hand-up not just a hand-out. Helping people to achieve things they never dreamed they could. Working with you, we aim to change lives through providing purpose, meaning and respect for all members of our communities.

In the last two years DCF have built their endowment from £180,000 to £2 million thanks to donations from the people of Devon and the Government's Grassroots Challenge that matched all donations made to us. In the last seven years we have distributed over £7,000,000 to more than 2500 groups in Devon over the last making DCF the largest independent grant maker in Devon. In 2010 we made a total of 370 grants to local voluntary and community groups in need in Devon.
