EASTLEIGH | Community Support & Development
The Pavilion on the Park is a community facility managed by Eastleigh Youth Trust for the benefit of the local community. The main activities of the Trust include supporting activities and events for disadvantaged people within the community. This includes a summer playscheme, community pre-school and a marching band. The Trust aims to bridge the gap between generations within the local area and deliver activities that support this aim.
Why the community needs usWe deliver projects for children and young people; disabled children, young people, adults and their families; and older people. Projects include adapted cycles for disabled cyclists, holiday playschemes, holiday sports activities, holiday arts activities, luncheon club, as well as one-off activity days and projects. We aim to support and encourage the local community to take part in community driven projects and activities that benefit both the individual and the local community.
Our impact on the communityAs a result of holiday activities we have increased the number of children and young people participating in both creative and sports activities during their holidays, encouraging them to try out new activities. Our disability focused projects have enabled many people to get cycling, some of whom have never been on a cycle before, and get creative with our arts and crafts activities offering somewhere friendly and fun to socialise and meet new people.
