The East Sussex Disability Association (ESDA) has responded to the changing needs of disabled people since 1938. ESDA is the Centre for Independent Living for East Sussex. Its purpose is to secure and support the rights of disabled people of every age to have choice and control and participate as equal members of society.
Why the community needs usWe benefit the community by the provision of expert advice, information and practical support to disabled people in overcoming any barriers they encounter. Through our campaigns, forums, training, research and representation, the voice of disabled people influences the movement towards equal rights in society. We target all disabled people in East Sussex, working with them directly and indirectly through group activity, care provision, carers and families and training.
Our impact on the communityWe help thousands of disabled and older people find daily living solutions, volunteering, socialising, training, trips and outings, membership of groups and access to regional and national networks.
