Why the community needs us
Café Emm is a community café: the food is home cooked daily, fresh and nutritious. It is provided at an  affordable price, with no obligation to buy more than a hot drink and sit and chat all day. We are open from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. We serve approx. 30 to 50 covers per day.

We have have a Support Worker who set up a Memory wall with older customers who have provided stories about their childhood and photographs. She runs a Memory Cafe afternoon, that provides dementia friendly activities, runs Singing for the Soul and exercise classes for older customers.

We host a Games morning on Mondays for board games and cards, and Happy at Home along with meetings for local guide dogs association. We have good relations with local schools and Canto who are an organisation who work with with individuals who live with challenges arising from learning, behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.

We offer monthly Sunday Dinners and offer Afternoon Teas which you can pre-book.

We currently have 3 paid members of staff and 12 volunteers, many of whom are disabled, that work in the café, 2 or 4 hour shifts per day. There are also 2 volunteers that work on Sunday lunches and afternoon teas.
