The charities purpose is to give families support through the areas of information, health, sports and education. Family Resource Centre UK's mission and purpose is to break down social barriers, empower families and whole communities to achieve their full potential by meeting their needs and giving people the opportunity and tools to flourish. We aim to make a better world for families and children through our projects and services to support families, change lives and build futures.

As well as providing Family Information and disability information services to families, our Great Opportunities Project (GO!) offered over 35 events in 2011 for disadvantaged children, encouraging independence, confidence and a support network for children and families. We also offer whole family counseling services, buddying for children and expanded these to other counties. Our projects and services are growing at a phenomenal rate and we believe in listening, changing and building on issues

The GO! program has a huge impact on those taking part, kids can be involved in sports and activities they wouldn't normally be able, building self esteem and offering parents their own support network. The School of Hoops project teaches children teamwork, working together and how to respect coaches & one another through sports. Our Family Resource Centres give an invaluable support to communities empowering families with information to make informed choices, resulting in 6 new opening in 2011
