Fawley Cricket Club are a thriving community based facility who are based on the eastern side of the New Forest in Hampshire, near to the Fawley Refinery. The club was formed in 1936 as the sports and social club for the refinery, however since the year 2000 it has operated on an independent basis. Why the community needs us

Our cricket club aims to provide a sporting activity in an environment for local children, both boys and girls, where they are made to feel welcome and are safe, as well as adults. We believe that cricket promotes the benefits of participation in a team activity to children, and the impact of this is best seen in those children who have been diverted away from anti-social activities into team sport.

Our impact on the community

In 2011 Fawley Cricket Club colts teams participated in the age groups of under 9, under 11, under 13 and, under 15. At least 50 children will play colts cricket for the club this summer, with many more participating in cricket training. To date, the club has formed a long standing partnership with Hardley Secondary School, which is adjacent to our club. On the school grounds we voluntarily maintain and use a grass wicket square, which is used by our 3rd XI as well as the school.
