To support St Richard's Hospital and local mental health services by voluntary service. The Friends provide the Hospital Shop and Ward Trolley service every day except Christmas Day and Good Friday, and raise funds to buy vital equipment which are beyond the means of the NHS budget as well as amenities for patients, visitors and staff.

The Friends of Chichester Hospitals supports patients, staff and visitors to St Richard's Hospital and in local mental health services. The Friends Shop and Trolley service stocks everyday items and all profits are used to buy vital equipment to help staff treat patients to the highest standard possible. All departments have benefited e.g. neonatal ITU, X Ray, Eye surgery and diagnostics. friends also provide amenities such as seating in waiting areas and wards, artwork and Christmas gifts.
