Fundraising focus: 100km Sahara Desert Trek and Borneo Sandakan Death March & Mount Trusmadi Challenge with Faith in Families.

"These challenges offer participants the opportunity to embark on life-changing adventures while raising vital funds for our charity's programs and initiatives. Individuals can get involved by signing up for these challenges through our website and rallying support from their networks.”

Faith in Families was established in 1999 in Swansea and works across the city to make a positive difference to families facing challenges. They provide a range of community services, help, and guidance to families from various socio-economic backgrounds and cultural heritages across the city as well as in Brecon. Their services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each family, focusing on fostering resilience, emotional well-being, and community cohesion and all the team are committed to building a brighter future and create a city where every child can reach their full potential.

They have some very exciting fundraisers coming up this year in partnership with Localgiving, Chelsey Thomas tells us more: “In 2024, Faith in Families is thrilled to announce two exhilarating fundraising challenges: the Borneo Jungle Trek and the Sahara Desert Trek. These challenges offer participants the opportunity to embark on life-changing adventures while raising vital funds for our charity's programs and initiatives. Individuals can get involved by signing up for these challenges through our website and rallying support from their networks.”

“We also aim to expand its reach and impact through several key developments. This includes the launch of new community outreach programs, the enhancement of existing services, and the implementation of innovative initiatives to address emerging needs within the community.”

Chelsey also tells us what, beyond funding, would best support Faith in Families ( @Faithinfamilies: “Our growth would be aided by increased community engagement, strategic partnerships with local organizations, and access to resources and expertise that facilitate organizational development and sustainability.”

To conclude, Chelsey tells us how we have worked together: “The support from Localgiving has been invaluable to Faith in Families' mission and operations. Through their platform, we have been able to amplify our fundraising efforts, reach a broader audience, and connect with donors who are passionate about supporting our cause. Localgiving's support has played a significant role in enabling us to expand our programs and services, ultimately benefiting the families and children we serve in Swansea.”
