About

Every year the Cubs at 1st Burgess Hill choose a community project which they can take part in for their badgework. This year we asked the Cubs and parents to tell us of any local groups they would like to support and SERV Sussex was short listed. There are a number of parents in the group who donate blood, and still more members of our scouting community who have been at the receiving end of the service that SERV Sussex provides. SERV are emergency blood courier who transport blood and baby milk around our county during the night. They are all volunteers and often use their own vehicles and pay for their own fuel. Having received a visit from two volunteers with their motorbikes last week, the Cub leaders have felt motivated to encourage the Beaver and Scout sections to join with them to raise money for this very worthy and worthwhile cause. It has been agreed that 1st Burgess Hill Scout Group will all be taking part in a sponsored walk on 17th May 2020 and we invite friends and family to take part in this with us and sponsor the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts for their respective walks.
