WHALE will be hosting 20 events, performances and exhibitions in the local area, both in WHALE Arts' centre and in local community spaces. Professional, local and amateur artists and companies will all be invited to participate in these high profile opportunities for local people to celebrate their involvement in the arts. Workshops and talks will also give us the opportunity to examine our practice and the impact we've had on the community.
Why they need our serviceWHALE Arts is 20 years old this year and we're celebrating the key role we've had in our community. Since we were established we've worked with thousands of people in the South West area, using arts projects to really make an impact on the way they live. This anniversary is an important moment to re-engage with some of our past participants and also draw in a new generation.
Plan and expected resultsWe would expect over 400 people to attend performances and events and over 2,000 people to view exhibited works. We would expect to see a 200% increase in participation compared to the same period last year. We also have a fundraising target of £20,000 during the anniversary period.
