On 18th May 2025 the Kimberley Institute Cricket Club 2nd team will run a marathon of singles. The challenge will involve our 2nd team squad running up and down our non turf wicket in full kit until they have completed a marathon.
While the challenge will be fun, running in full kit while carrying a cricket bat will require fitness and stamina, and should be a great training session as our 2nd team embark on their first season in the Nottinghamshire Premier League Division 2.
Our clubs purpose is to provide cricketing and leisure facilities to all our members as well as the wider community so the game of cricket can flourish, individuals fulfil their cricketing potential, and the wellbeing of all participants is enhanced, all in a safe and inclusive community.
Over the next 3 years, in time for the clubs 150th anniversary in 2028, we have plans to invest in the ground so we can offer first class sporting and leisure opportunities for local residents and businesses. This includes developing a brand new clubhouse for member and community use and state of the art training facilities.
The challenge will start at 10 am and will take around 4 hours. During the challenge our junior teams will be playing games of kwick cricket on the outfield and having net sessions. We invite you down to the ground to support our 2nd team on the day, and witness this extraordinary challenge. The clubhouse will be open for refreshments
