Well, I did it, and it was way harder than I expected it to be. The rain kept coming at us and some of the climbs were relentless almost.
It's fair to say that this was indeed a genuine challenge for our team of 21 people and even though that was the case, we all had fun and we all got through it.
I still have a little way to go to meet my target so please dig deep and help me to help those in our community that have made bad choices and those that have simply not realised that they had the choice.
Thank you.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The route is 24 miles (38.6km), and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent.
The people we support at The Reasons Why Foundation face difficult challenges every day and we see it as part of our journey, to challenge ourselves on a regular basis in order to raise funds and awareness of the services we provide and the people we support, many of whom have suffered the consequences of bad choices that they've made in their lives.
I would love for you to help me raise my target and welcome every donation made, whatever its size. I've done a few fundraisers for The RWF now and realise the value of these events, we simply couldn't continue our work without the support of generous people who understand that many people deserve another chance to learn to change.
Training has gone well and I am now ready for the challenge this Saturday. My page will be accepting donations for a couple of weeks after the event for those who need that extra time.
Thank you.
