Picture this:You're walking along holding a big old box of popcorn.Every now and then you reach in and take a handful.Do you worry if you drop a single piece?Someone bumps into you. A load of pieces spill.Do you stop to pick them up or keep on walking?Now our world is like that popcorn box - and us people, we're like the popcorn. Every now and then people slip through the gaps and end up on the floor. But when the pandemic hit last year, that was a big whack to the box. Unemployment rates soared. Poverty has soared. Food poverty has soared.
It's organisations like the One Can Trust that have stepped into pick up the pieces - helping families and households with supplies of food and supplies. The demands on their resources have tripled in the last 18 months.
