On 22nd May 2022, I will complete a challenge to walk at least 5km every day for an entire year and a month, raising funds for Ukrainian refugees who are being supported by Horton Housing Association.
As one of the trustees on the Board at Horton Housing, it would be great to raise money for the incredible causes Horton supports. Initially I raised money for their work with refugees from Afghanistan. As of 14th April all donations support their work with individuals and families who have fled the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
This is another fantastic opportunity to raise money for and if I could hit my target from all these walks, then that would be brilliant. My employer is also going to match the money raised to help me reach my target so every £1 donated now will provide £2 to Ukrainian families.
Around where I live in West Yorkshire there are some incredible walks, through forests, on the Pennines, along canals and around reservoirs, so it has been really enjoyable to do every day. The walking has been great fun if not challenging at times. I have been out when it has been raining, snowing and hailing! I am fitter than I have ever been so I will definitely keep walking long after the year has passed.
I would be thankful for any donations to help me reach my goal.
