On my first marathon I am supporting The Lord Mayor of Westminster and raising money for the Young Westminster Foundation.
The Lord Mayor’s Charity (Young Westminster Foundation):
The Lord Mayor is passionate about improving the lives of local young people. He will be working closely with Young Westminster Foundation (YWF) to raise the voice of young people from diverse communities across the City of Westminster and champion the role of youth workers. He is fundraising for Brighter Futures Fund to increase investment for youth clubs and projects, with a focus on arts and sports provision.
Every donation made, big or small, supports YWFs work ensuring that all young people in Westminster grow up healthy, safe and happy with the best opportunities for brighter futures. YWF brings together youth organisations, young people, businesses, Westminster City Council, schools and the wider community to create opportunities for young people. Westminster borough has one of the largest wealth disparities in London, where 1 in 3 young people grow up in poverty. YWF support a community of 100+ youth clubs and grassroots charities, providing life-changing support to young people in need.
The YWF community has a range of specialist skills in areas like arts, sports, educational and vocational activities or support services. Members also offer bespoke programmes for groups including young carers, homeless young people and young people with disabilities. YWF support local organisations through partnership opportunities, training and grant-giving, to help shape youth services in the borough to ensure that young people in Westminster receive the level of support they need.
About Adam:
While I run every day and have completed a number of half marathons, this will be my first full marathon. It will still be a big challenge and I appreciate any donations you can make. I will also be achieving a life goal in running the London Marathon.
