I'm new to running and need all the motivation I can get for the Great North Run. So please give generously to help me over the finish line!
Type 1 Kidz is a project within Investing in Children, the children's rights organisation my partner works for. The Type 1 Kidz project provides peer support for children and young people with type 1 diabetes and their families in the North East and North Cumbria. It is also a space for discussion with clinical teams and the the Children and Young People's Diabetes Network to ensure that the voices of children, young people and families are heard in the services they use.
If you want to find out more, why not listen to the podcast some of the young people have made - T1KZ, the Highs and Lows of Type 1 Diabetes: https://open.spotify.com/show/1NUSAfOmyFnmjvAO7zKSQL?si=3456951adfed496a
This project began in County Durham and has developed over the years to now work across the whole North East and North Cumbria region. As is so often the case in the voluntary sector, funding is not guaranteed so all donations are welcome and will help to continue their work with as many young people as possible.
