I’m rubbish at running. If we’ve had any kind of conversation in the last two years then I’ve probably spoken to you at length about how bad I am at it. And yet today (!!) I’m going to be lining up for my first (and, let’s face it, only) half marathon. But I’m doing it for Angel Shed, a brilliant youth theatre charity for disadvantaged young people in Islington, that I’ve been involved with as a trustee for five years.

This race has been a long time coming given it was originally supposed to take place in March 2020. But then a little thing called Coronavirus came along, and my little ‘6 month running challenge’ became a ‘2 year running challenge’, and I’ve been resolutely plodding my way around parks and streets through all the lockdowns/tiers/intermittent periods of freedom to try to get myself ready to run.

This has obviously been a challenge for me, but knowing that I’m trying to raise money for this brilliant cause has also kept me going, so I’d be really grateful for anything you can spare for such a fantastic charity. As you can imagine, COVID has made it even harder to raise funds so any donations big or small will make a fantastic difference.

Wish me luck!!!
