In light of the Supreme Court ruling and the onslaught of anti-trans sentiment that has followed, I'm raising £500 for Gendered Intelligence: a trans-led and trans-involving charity that works to increase understandings of gender diversity and improve the lives of trans people.
In the current political climate it is more important than ever to put our money where our mouth is in the support of one of the most victimised groups of individuals, who's basic human rights and dignity deserve upholding. Morag and Amy (the dynamic duo!) are therefore walking, running, or otherwise dragging their bodies over 100km during the month of May (1st-31st) in time to celebrate the start of Pride Month!
There are increasingly few services and spaces that are available to and safe for trans folk. Gendered Intelligence delivers a range of services, projects and activities to trans, non-binary, and gender questioning people, and their families, as well as a range of educational, training and consultancy services to organisations and individuals who are working to better their inclusive practices. They also engage with public policy and seek to influence legislation, the media, policy and research at a national level.
