I was able to support this charity 10 years ago and count myself very lucky to be able to take part in this 10 year anniversary event. For many years my incentive to continue running has been as a result of my dear friend and running buddy Dawn who died in 2018 of a rare form of cancer which she fought for three years inspiring many other runners whilst suffering from and being treated for this horrible disease. She cycled when she could no longer run, and moved to an electric bike when she found that too hard. She would strategically place herself at local races so that we could see her smiling face encouraging us on. Dawn loved a challenge and to support her family and friends in theirs. Sporting Family Change was a charity close to Dawn's heart and through activities and kindness they are able to support and encourage local families through their own challenges, providing them with new and exciting opportunities and belief in themselves; they make a positive difference in peoples' lives and I am delighted to be able to fund raise for them once more.
