Well….we are Team Poblar. A semi-pro cycling quintet from Catalonia, that are joining the ROF22 Bordeaux 500 BIKE RIDE. Did that sound convincing? Well its not entirely true…yes we are joining the Charity Bike Ride, but we are novices to extreme and enduro cycling. One old head Martin (Tio Loco), who has been on several previous rides. One youthful Cockney-Spaniard (Pol aka Sobrino Stupido) , his ‘lady’ me, Super Beth (ultra novice), one pressed family member Mar (the last time she cycled she went over the handle bars and ended in A+E, 8 stitches in her chin…yes) and close friend Javier (aka Javi Banana...).We are up for the challenge.We are cycling for two worthy charitable entities : MKRUFC, a community rugby club serving MK area, offering a ‘sport for all’ approach and Willen Hospice , the palliative care hospice in our area . More on willen here : Willen Hospice - End of life palliative care (willen-hospice.org.uk) All funds collected go the club/hospice and all costs of the ride are covered in full by the riders and or the group sponsors. The ride is 500 miles (800 km in Catalonian) Bordeaux to Dax to Condom to Cahors to Bergerac back to Bordeaux. 42 cyclists, 11 support crew. All volunteers. Please help and give according to your means. Any value accepted.
