Birkbeck Women’s Network is proud to present our first film screening fundraiser.
Due to the senseless killing of Iranian Kurdish woman, Jina Mahsa Amini, by Iran’s morality police, we will be collecting funds in her name for a UK based charity - Iranian Kurdish Women’s Rights Organsation - who support Middle Eastern women fleeing violence and domestic abuse.
We have decided to show the film “Persepolis” which is an Iranian & French animated film (currently banned in Iran) which discusses the revolution and migration of Persepolis’ author - Marjane Satrapi - through her eyes.
We stand with the women of Iran demanding the right to choose what they wear.
