After the last 2 years I vowed this year would not involve another sponsored walk but when the chance to do a sponsored Firewalk came up, to help raise funds for Creating Adventures, it seemed an opportunity of a different kind. So this Saturday Sept 13th, a group of us, both members and supporters, are going to take part in walking on fire!
Please can you spare a few pounds to help spur us on - firewalk here we come!
Thanks
What is fire walking?
Fire walking is the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot wooden coals.
Who will teach me how to fire walk?
The Firewalk will be run by Steps For You; a training and events company based in Worcestershire. Since 2011 their founder Keith McKay has been firewalking and has been involved in safely guiding thousands of people from all walks of life over hot coals. He is a member of the Global Firewalking Association and also does events for other training and coaching companies. He is an Emotional Intelligence Guide and Coach, working with individuals and companies to facilitate positive change.
How safe is Fire Walking?
Each participant will take part in a mandatory training workshop before being given the opportunity to walk across hot coals.
This is of course not without risk but Steps For You are experienced event organisers & follow strict health & safety and operating procedures. All Steps For You trainers are fully certified firewalking instructors and have had to complete over 150 firewalks
Worldwide millions of people have safely walked over the fire / hot coals and had a truly life changing experience.
A great way to raise some money to help support CA members with learning disabilities & autism, & fund the many activities provided for them.
