Throughout the month of April I will be participating in Men's Minds Matter 100km in 30 days challenge. I will be dedicating this challenge to not just all Men who have fought, fighting and lost their battle with Mental Health but to people of all genders.
As a 27 year old male, I am not ashamed to say that I am currently struggling with my mental health, I am currently taking Sertraline and having therapy session which helps me out a lot. Years ago I had previously tried taking my own life climbing onto a bridge and being pulled off by a complete stranger named Sam, and to me that was my sign that there is always someone there for you regardless if they are a friend, a family member, a colleague at work, or even a complete stranger on the street.
The reason that I am doing is this is because I want to make others known that you are not alone! I work for NHS 111 and I find it so brave the amount of men who call us up at 111 who are secretly battling with their mental health, making that first big step to get the help that they need. I am so proud of every single one of them who call up. There are so many people who work at NHS 111 who feel the same way and it is a service available 24/7 to help support.
Every donation, regardless how little or small, will help contribute resources towards the following:
Suicide prevention training for Clinicians.
Suicide training for carers, friends, families and communities.
Suicide Prevention in the Workplace.
Face to Face and Online Intervention.
