During October I’ll be walking the Capital Ring Walk, a 78 mile route around London to raise funds to support Fourth Reserve to buy back Gorne Wood.
Gorne Wood is a designated ancient woodland by Natural England and part of the Great North Wood. Whilst there is definitely a need to build houses in London, sites with 400 year old trees which support a bio-diverse ecosystem such as Gorne Wood should be preserved.
A recent YouGov poll commissioned by Natural England, RSPB and WWF found 81% of the respondents said they believed nature was under threat and that more needed to be done urgently to protect and restore it. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/sep/30/most-uk-adults-think-nature-is-in-urgent-need-of-protection-poll?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
Please donate and help save this important woodland from developers.

Well done Jonet!!
74.5 miles completed and I've still got 12 miles left to go, so I guess it's a bit further than the 78 miles initially suggested. A long walk yesterday and my feet keep reminding me of it today!
