Make a difference. Help beat isolation & loneliness in our community.
In the City of Plymouth there are almost 50,000 people over the age of 65, with almost 36% of them living alone and many suffering from loneliness and isolation. This has a huge impact on both their physical and mental wellbeing with many stating their mental health suffers further around the festive period.
We are appealing to the people of Plymouth to help us provide the following:
£10 will pay for a friendly face to deliver a hot, Christmas meal to someone isolated at home
£20 will pay for someone to enjoy a Christmas meal and attend a Christmas party
We want people to be able to have fun, enjoy themselves and socialise with others, boosting their wellbeing. We understand however, that a number of people will not be able to attend and therefore we want to be able to provide them with a nutritious Christmas meal to enjoy at home.
There will be opportunities to volunteer on the day and if you would like to know more about this, please contact volunteer@ageukplymouth.org.uk
