ESOL stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages which highlights the targeted way in which we deliver these classes for our service users. These classes are run by qualified ESOL teachers who are experienced in teaching English as a foreign language. They are often also assisted by learning support assistants, many of whom can also support students by acting as interpreters.
Why they need our service
RETAS continues to see increasing numbers of clients needing significant support with their English, which has led to us running a programme of ESOL classes, from Pre-Entry level to Level 1.
Plan and expected results
These English classes aim to support with the crucial language skills which support individuals to have greater confidence and thus a stronger ability to integrate with the local community.
