As members of the Ethiopian and Rastafarian communities in Bristol and Bath, we are trying to run 905km between us - the distance from Addis Ababa to Adwa - to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Ethiopian victory against colonisation at Adwa. We are raising funds to support Friends of Fairfield House who are working to preserve and maintain the legacy of Emperor Haile Selassie, who gave Fairfield House as a gift to the people of Bath.
I have set myself the target to run 10km on 28th February as my contribution to the total. I've never run that distance before, but it is giving me a great reason to get out and get fit and train every day!
I'll be posting details of how you can get involved too - running, fundraising, or joining us for a celebration event online in the afternoon of the 28th February.
Well done Eleanor ! Xxx
I’ve covered a total of 22.5km so far - a mixture of running and walking. There is a Strava club if you want to share your own distance: https://www.strava.com/clubs/race-to-adwa-852135
