As we approach the 1st year anniversary in just a few short weeks without my darling Eleanor. I thought it would be fitting to pay tribute to the wonder work of Gilead Foundations Charity. Eleanor had a huge amount of compassion for the broken-hearted and felt their pain acutely. As a result, she dedicated much of her time to several voluntary projects including Lakeside Foodbank, Shoreline Foodbank and Southport Soup Kitchen. This allowed Eleanor to bring sunshine to a world that she knew felt as cruel and hard to navigate to others as it so often did to her.
The work at Gilead brought sunshine to Eleanor in a place that gave her hope, love and acceptance. Gilead Foundations is a working farm that provides refuge for women from all over the country recovering from a multitude of traumas.
eleanor spent the last 5 weeks of her life at Gilead. We visited her there, she loved the tranquility, the staff and the friendships she made.
Being able to raise awareness, give thanks and hopefully raise some vital funds for Gilead in Eleanor’s memory, has given me something to feel positive about over the coming weeks.
