Welcome friends and family to the Drosophila Connectomics fundraising page!
Towards the end of 2018, a small group of us with the research group agreed to the crazy idea of running the Cambridge Half Marathon (shout out to Nik for the suggestion). Yes, a half marathon. That's 13 miles or around 21km!
So what is our motivation? Besides seeking a new challenge, we are running in support of the brilliant charity The Kite Trust. This organisation promotes the wellbeing and inclusion of LGBTQ+ young people across Cambridgeshire by raising awareness and educating local communities.
For more information on The Kite Trust please visit: http://thekitetrust.org.uk/
We would be incredibly grateful for any donations you would like to give and look forward to hopefully seeing some of you on race day - we'll need all the cheers we can get! Banners are welcome!
P.S. Drosophila = fruit fly
P.P.S. If we reach our target, Nik will run dressed as a fruit fly
Up up to the Sky The penguins
Respect! Laurin super! Monika
Did you get the fly costume, Nik?
After a very successful charity cocktail night in the Zoology Department, we raised another £360, which we added! Huge thank you for the support from our work colleagues!
