Later this year I will be taking part in a 100km trek across the Sahara desert to raise money for We Are Nugent.
Departing on 12 November 2023, I will embark on the most amazing and challenging 7-day adventure, trekking through stunning desert landscapes by day and camping under the stars at night.
Nugent a charity in based Liverpool, operating for over 140 years providing vital support for many children, young people, adults and families in my local community.
More specifically the project I have chosen will help families in Liverpool who are fleeing domestic abuse. This would enable more families to safely leave a home where violence, or the threat of violence, is present. Often their money is controlled by the abuser so the ability to move to a safe and furnished property may not be possible.
This project is very close to my heart having grown up in a home where domestic abuse was a daily occurrence. It was the norm for us to rely on our friends and family to take us in if they could or we would find ourselves living in hotels until inevitably we would have to return home and repeat the cycle.
I have set up this page and would be eternally grateful for any donations you could give no matter how small it will go a long way to make a difference in the lives of the people that Nugent care for.
