We run daily food bank provision across two sites: East Marsh (Mon,Weds, Fri) 1pm-3:30pm, and Willows Estate (Tues, Thurs) 1pm-3:30pm. These usually consist of a drop in facility with food and drink and opportunity for informal support and signposting. We run recovery groups and other activities. However, during the Covid-19 crisis we are operating a walk through service to ensure we can continue to provide food parcels. We have seen a 120% increase in demand over the last 6 weeks.

Grimsby is a town with pronounced socio-economic challenges, with 1 in 3 children living in poverty. Nationally we score in the bottom quartile on all of the markers of deprivation (unhealthiness, crime, economic poor health, unqualified population). Our two food banks serve two of the towns areas of social housing. Across our two sites we currently provide food to between 6-800 people a week.

In addition ncreased demand, we have also see decreased donations and giving from our usual sources of practical and financial support. Furthermore, we have seen a price increase in one of our supply streams meaning we currently face a huge struggle maintaining adequate resources to continue to provide the 5400-7200 meals we currently provide each week. Your donations will help us support some of the hard pressed individuals and families in our country at a time of unprecedented national crisis.
