I have volunteered at Ross Community Garden generally every other Friday since June 2019 and seen it evolve and ‘grow’ from strength to strength, offering more and more services through therapeutic horticulture, reaching more people, young children and families, adults, some with a learning disability or mental health needs to the numerous volunteers who all help support the garden in different ways.
The garden is a real gem in our town. It is a favourite time in my week when I can go to the garden and meet up with our wonderful service users and other volunteers. It is a garden of hope and positivity, nurturing people, plants and nature and also a place of peace in an ever busy world where we can get together, communicate and be there for each other. I have seen the positive effects that coming to the garden has made on people and I am excited that Haygrove is creating more projects like this.
