Team Fundraisers
I am running the Alton Half Marathon on 12th November to raise money for Home-Start South Leicestershire.
Home-Start South Leicestershire are a fantastic independent charity part of the Home-Start network, who offer befriending support along with practical and emotional advice in the homes of families who need it.
When I was 4 weeks post-partum, I was diagnosed with Post Natal depression and anxiety, and after a really difficult time of seeking support, I found HomeStart. As an organisation, they opened the door to me when it felt like so many others weren't and offered me and my family support through a really difficult time. Through them, I was introduced to the Post Natal Illness Project for young parents. This, along with the never ending support of the team, equipped me with the tools needed to get through a really dark time. I still carry that knowledge and use those tools to this day to support me through difficult periods. I will never be able to thank the team at South Leicester Home-Start enough for their support.
The funds raised will go towards the running of Home-Start South Leicestershire and will support the team in the fantastic work they do - it will help them to continue to support young mums and dads through difficulties.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference.
