I wanted to raise money for Embrace (BDCPS) as they have supported us as a family for many years. It's their 70th birthday this year and it would have been my big brother, Zach's 20th birthday this year as well. Zach passed away when he was 13 and I am 13 now so I wanted to do something to make a difference.
I decided to first swim 70 lengths of the 25m pool non stop. I then thought I should do something more so ran 20 laps of the 400m track on a really hot day so that was 8km.
Then Mum suggested I try to run 70km so I have been running Park Run (5km) every Saturday at 9am! After being dragged out of bed, I have been running regularly and I have now managed 13 Park Runs so have run over 70km! PB is 21.44!
I would really appreciate if you can donate to this challenge. Embrace are a local charity in Bedfordshire that help many children with disabilities and their families.
Thank you!
Harvey
Message from Alka and Martin, Harvey's parents:
We are really proud of Harvey that he has managed to both swim and run and has shown commitment every week to this challenge. The 20th birthday of Park Run was on Zach's 20th birthday so it felt right!
Embrace are a fantastic charity that help many children and their families in our local area including our own. We know times are tough and you may have donated to other charities and also saving for Christmas. If you can give something to support Harvey and his challenge and to help children with disabilities be able to embrace life's opportunities more, that would be really appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support.
