Dear all, this is Imy and she is walking the South West coastal path, from Minehead to Lands End, throughout the month of June to raise funds for a great charity we both work for - Borderlands! To prepare for this endeavour, Imy has been training since December. The plan is to camp and carry everything she needs throughout the month.
Borderlands supports refugees and asylum seekers in Bristol. As an organisation, Borderlands relies entirely on donations. Borderlands offers hope to people who may see themselves as lost or abandoned and supports those to find a way forward. Borderlands is dedicated to combating exclusion in society and delivers crucial services; providing mentoring, hot meals, a social supermarket, English lessons, wellbeing classes and more, the service exists to help integrate its member’s into the fabric of UK society.
A word from Imy
This is my first big challenge; I have been training hard for it and I am confident that nothing is too big to conquer. No matter how many hills encountered, how rainy it gets or how far the end is, I'll keep going for the refugees and asylum seekers who have gone through so much more to get to safety.
I'm launching this crowdfunding campaign to raise money for Borderlands. This fundraising goal will serve as motivation for every step taken towards the goal. I will of course keep you posted about the progression of the journey with some pictures and posts 😊.
Lots of love,
Imy
These are very difficult times for everyone in general, but especially for refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable immigrants. We know that this may not be the best time to contribute financially but every penny that is contributed will go towards people who really need it. Please share it among your friends, on social networks, via WhatsApp and email. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page will be of great help to us and all those at Borderlands.
Thank you very much for reading, for sharing, supporting and helping.
