Last year my friend Alex did the unthinkable, leaving so much behind him, and giving up on his future. He didn't reach out for help, and I have been very troubled by this.
The suicide rate in young men still alarmingly high, and there is not always the awareness that help is so readily accessible. There is also still too much stigma around 'manning up' and men not talking about, or sharing their troubles.
I want to raise awareness, break down walls of silence and communication barriers, so that people know what is out there.
So, I am fundraising for Men's Minds Matter, to hopefully raise money and awareness for this vitally important cause and to do my bit to help others.
On the 29th of March 2026, I will be taking on The Edale Skyline Challenge. This is a 20-21 mile (32-37km), highly challenging ridge walk in the Peak District that circles the Edale Valley.
Please give what you can. Even if it's just sharing the post to raise awareness of the work this charity does. Every bit help.
